The peppers are getting ripe. I brought in jalapenos, serranos,cayenne, and chili pequeno. There are also habanero, TAM jalapenos, and some sort of sweet pepper. The sweet pepper is Teenage Monkey's plant. I like my peppers hot. The little chili pequeno peppers along with the serranos and habaneros are all ground up in a blender with sea salt and good vinegar to make a Tabasco type sauce that will, wait for it......knock your socks off.

I am alright with my hair standing on end, but I don't want to lose my socks. Habanero peppres are just too hot for me.

ReplyDeleteMy dad always kept a glass jar in the fridge. The jar contained vinegar, sliced raw garlic and HABANEROS and maybe some olives. Dad's idea of relaxing was to sit out on the back porch with an ice cold beer and his jar. The jar was always in the fridge. He'd just keep replenishing it as needed. I'm growing habaneros thiw year for the first time. Need to get me a nice glass jar.

Curmudgeon, I keep jalapenos in a jar just like that. I don't eat them. I use them to cook with. Never thought about putting olive in the mix. I love olives. Hmmm... there maybe a new refrigerator ingredient in my future.

Hi James. Those are the chili pequinos. They are almost as hot as a habanero. Oh, btw, they are perennial for me and I think they are for you to. I know my grandmother grew them as far south and west as Rochell, Tx.
