Site Meter is Causing Blog Problems.

I have noticed that several of the blogs I like to read as well as my own were having internet explorer problems. VP sent me a message and it turns out that my sitemeter was the problem. Here is the web address she sent me with an explanation. Thanks VP. I removed it from the blog, and now all is well. This is sort of sad, because I love my sitemeter. It let me know all kinds of cool stuff like where readers come from and why. Someone got here once looking for a fracus tree - Teehee, people are crazy. Anyway, when they fix the problem I will reinstall the sitemeter. This may mean I start over, but that is okay. If you are having trouble with your blog and internet explorer, take a look at your sitemeter, it may be the culprit.

    Good to know, I'll have to look into it when we're back from Wausau. I hope Cindee doesn't use sitemeter. Apparently I can stay logged on even though IE can't display the webpage. Weird!

    Yup, it was sitemeter all right. I use some different things that work well but hope they work sitemeter out as I do like mine too.

    Great way to get peoples attention. I didn't think to post about it when I figured it out last night. As soon as I removed it I was able to get into my blog! Good job!

    I was having the same problem, figured out what it was, and also fixed it by deleting the sitemeter. Hopefully once they get the problem fixed it can be replaced on our blogs.

    Thanks I posted it and more info on my blog. I found some info on wikipedia too. Im sure they will have it fixed soon. I guess it was a bug.

    Hi Deb - thanks for the shout! It's The Garden Monkey you need to thank s/he found the link I gave you. I'd just found a problem with reading some of my favourite blogs and was comparing notes with him/her. So having got the link I just sent something round to all the people I'd had problems with reading this morning.

    Forgot to add that a couple of others have reinstalled their sitemeter now and I'm having no problem with accessing their sites.

    The Garden Monkey is having to read his/her stats via Firefox though, so it looks like the problem's only partially fixed for the moment though...

    It appears Site Meter is back up. I was told it came up at 2:30 pm. I have added it back into my blog. All info was still there. Yahoo to the tech people!
