In honor of Autumn, I made an artemesia wreath. I don't know what variety of artemesia I have in my yard. I was told that it was Sweet Annie, but no. I thought it might be artemesia vulgarise, nope, no red stem. It is tall, fragrant, and very invasive. My front porch smells wonderful right now.
Here is something funny. This Japanese Sohyu cucumber grew into the number six. Could this be a sign?
How pretty, and I'll bet your door smells great. The butterflies and hummingbirds are a sweet touch, too.
ReplyDeleteI have Artemesia too, not sure of what variety it is, but it's getting HUGE! I tried transplanting some to shade the roots of some of my clematis. Maybe that wasn't the best idea... invasive you say? I hope I don't have that variety. I prefer the type that stays put in one area and only needs a little reining in occassionally. It does smell wonderful though. I hope if I move more of these wonderul smelly plants throughout my yard the wildlife will want to leave it all alone.
ReplyDeleteI think your artemisia is 'Silver King', Debbi. And boy, is that wreath gorgeous! Love your 6-cuke, too. Maybe you should play 6 in the lottery!
ReplyDeleteFunky cuke! One of our tomatoes has a horn growing out the one end kind of like a unicorn.
ReplyDelete--Curmudgeon
Thanks nola
ReplyDeleteHi cinj, I am pretty sure deer and such will leave it alone.
ofb, maybe I will play the number six. Can't hurt. I googled Silver King artemesia and I think you are right.
curmudgeon, maybe it is the time of year for oddly shaped produce.
That wreath is beautiful! How great to have something that pretty on your door that smells so good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meadowview thymes.
ReplyDeletePretty wreath. Odd cuke. I would say it's a sign.
ReplyDeleteWow that cucumber is awesome... a sign... wonder what for? Six more cucumbers? haha
ReplyDeletelola, I took it as a sign to make a salad.
ReplyDeleteJames, I hope it means sixty more cucumbers.
