There will be no garden blogging today. I got a phone call from the school. Teenage Monkey had hurt his arm playing football. An X-ray showed a buckle fracture of his radius.
Oh no. Not a good thing for the monkey, at all (or for you). I think it's cute that the cat is trying to take care of him. They are so in tune to things that we ignore sometimes.
Hi Cindy, he is sleeping well. We have been lucky, this is our first bone break. Pretty amazing considering the behavior and risk taking of my monkeys. The cat is certainly being sweet.
Hope Monkey isn't in too much pain and that he makes a speedy recovery! Cats just know, don't they. Even our tortie--the cat that makes the entire sofa vibrate with her growling--calls a truce when one of us is sick. --Curmudgeon
I'm sad for your monkey. But I must ask this, as a mother of daughters, but one young grandson...is there much boys do besides things that can potentially cause injury or disaster??? Or smelly things on your fan? Or wearing mom's socks? I am just so surprised every time you post of a new dilemma... Brenda
Racquel, thanks, he seems to be handling it okay. boys will be boys I guess.
Curmudgeon, He finally kicked the cat out of the room because she was keeping him awake purring and making biscuits. She pulled up a little of the carpet trying to get back in. He is really handling tha pain well.
Hi Brenda, they do sweet things too. Sometimes that actually slow down and pay attention. That last about 20 seconds and they are off finding something else to mess with.
Hi foxymoron, He seems to be doing okay. It is going to be a long eight weeks helping him with almost everything. This morning we had to help him get dressed. Manly Man picked that moment to start baby talking to him. The Monkey was not amused.
How sweet she thinks he''s cute. Wiat, can we keep teenagers seperated by lots and lots of water. CAN WE, FOXY. Sorry I freaked out a little.
Poor monkey! It's a good thing that kids are resillient, isn't it? I hope he was easier to deal with than my son was when he almost cut his finger off.
Ouch! Ouch!!! Poor Monkey, and poor you all! But is this really your first break out of three Monkeys?! Wow. At that rate, let's hope it will also be your last!

Okay foxy, deep breath. Can you tell I am new at this teenager thing?
ofb, believe it or not this is our first break. We have had concussions and a nasty tongue bite, but this is the first break. Hopefully, it will be the last, but I am not going to hold my breath.
Oh, the poor monkey, and poor Mommy too. None of us like to get that call. Hope he feels better soon.~~Dee
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee, he is hopped up on painkillers and the cat is trying to baby him. How do cats know when we are sick or sad?

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for him and you. I had two boys so I know how you both feel. Hope it heals quickly.

ReplyDeletecinj, yikes. I wouldn't be easy to live with if I almost cut my finger off either. DANG. The monkey's arm hurt, but it was not grusome.
ReplyDeleteCalm down Debbi!! She is only 12 and none of us a passport. At least I hope not.
