Thanks A Million Kathryn

Katheryn at Plant What Ever Brings You Joy, posted about the wrap up of the scarf initiative. She showed pictures of the scarves. They were all lovely. It is wonderful to think of the little girls who will wear them and stay a little warmer this winter. I was so worried I would not be able to get mine ready on time. But there it was today along with all the others. This makes me feel better about human kind. Look what can happen if one person has an idea, puts it out their to a bunch of blogging friends, and then organizes it. Fantastic. Thanks a million Kathryn.

  1. I think your scarf project was wonderful - and it is amazing what someone's little idea can do, isn't it? We're doing the 29-Day Giving Challenge and I put some tidbits and links on my garden blog. I'm loving it - and it's teaching my daughter a great lesson, too.

  3. It is a great idea - changing the world one gift at a time...and each day can be whatever you want to make it. When I read other blogs, some of them are so different from mine, and some give me great ideas. It's had such a ripple effect in my life, helping me think about how I can make a difference without even realizing that I am doing it.

  5. Debbi, was your scarf the light green and white one? Well they were all just beautiful. It's going to give you a thousand goosebumps when you see them on the children. And it was really kind of your mom to help.

  6. Anna, it is hard to tell but it was lime green and pink. Not neon, but pastle. You are absolutely right. If we are able to get pictures of the girls in the scarves I am going to have a serious melt down over here.

  7. Debbi - That's great - it's a lot of fun. Maybe for your first gift you could GIVE your monkey a haircut!

  9. OK, now I'm all teary-eyed with Debbie's wonderful acknowledgment. I'm especially touched that we are all eagerly anticipating those photos of the girls in Askole village wearing our scarves! Serious meltdown! Too cute. You won't be alone! Thank you so much for the sweet tribute to the project--and for your beautiful contributions! Special thanks to your mom.

  10. Hi Deb - it was a great project to be involved in wasn't it? I think I'll join you in the meltdown when we next see 'our' scarves. Except they won't be ours by then!

I chuckled at Kathryn's misunderstanding of the word 'fleece'. It shows English isn't a language just separating our 2 countries, it happens at home too ;)

  11. Diana, does taking responsibility for your childrens appearence count as a gift?

Nola, Kathryn said she will post any she receives. I can't wait.

Kathryn, you are very welcome. It was an honor to participate. I so hope we get pictures. Mom was pleased to see hers on your post.

vp, I know. It's so cool.

It is very hard to translate Texan. There are degrees and variations that only we can understand. I try to avoid typing things like "I'm fixin to go warsh mah pickem up truck." Seriously. I remember being told to get in the Q at Buckingham Palace. Mom and I were both completely confused.
