I tried really hard to take an in focus picture, but failed again. This is a little bitty tiny daffodil. I tried to find something on the internet about it, but just come up with other little daffodils slightly larger than this one. Anyone know what it it?
Boy, I have seen those, Debbie, and I always call them Baby Daffodils.I don't know their proper name. But aren't they sweet??
ReplyDeleteDebbi - it's a little bitty daffo-dilly ... oh, you knew that! Sorry. I don't know, but it's very cute and I imagine it makes you smile every time you go by it.
ReplyDeleteDebbi, is there a really sweet fragrance? If so, it might be Jonaquil Early Louisiana, 1612. I thought you could only get these as pass-alongs, but someone gave me a website where you can order them. I have several (not blooming yet) and love them. I pick little bouquets for inside and the whole house smells good!
ReplyDeleteThat is a small flower! Sorry, I am clueless too. At least we don't have to know the names of flowers to enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteKathryn, I think linda nailed it.
ReplyDeleteDiana, hahahaha.
Linda, I think you got it. For such a tiny thing it does smell wonderful without being over powering like Earlicher or paper whites. I think this is the second year i have had these. There seem to be about six to eight clumps. Thanks for the info.
Cinj, Of course I will love it just the same, but I am glad linda gave us a clue.
I have some like those too Deb that I ordered from Brent and Becky's Bulbs. Don't quote me but I think those are 'Baby Moon'. They are pretty little things. :)
ReplyDeleteRacquel, I know these came from Brent and Becky's. We ordered from them for the last three years for our fall bulb sale. They are scented. I need to hear from the master gardener who organizes the bulb sale and see if she ordered baby moon or or Early Louisana. It could be either.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I am pretty sure I have identified the bloom day mystery daff and the mini. Looks like the big one is giant star and the mini is baby moon. Thanks for the help everyone.
ReplyDeleteRacquel, thanks for the reminder to check the Brent and Becky's site.
We call em Jonquils.
ReplyDeleteI have some too and I call mine mini daffodils. I think they are so cute. They have a name though just don't know what it is off hand(-: I took a picture of mine this morning(-:
ReplyDeleteDebi, Those are jonquils; I have some that are ancient, from my great grandmother. If you want more, don't buy them, let me know and I will dig some up after they've finished blooming this year. I just love the bright green and bright yellow, they really pack a punch in my otherwise dreary flowerbed this time of year!
ReplyDeleteFoxy, Me smacking my head saying "that's it":)
ReplyDeleteCindee, with blogging buddy help I narrowed this one down to baby moon.
Nola, I have six varieties of jonquils. I will gladly do a bulb swap with you later this summer. We need to do a north Texas garden bloggers jamboree or something.
