It is cold outside. The rain has been coming down for three days. Our yard and garden have areas of standing water. The picture shows standing water in the garden pathway. The bunnies look sad. Abby wants out, goes out and wants back in. The manx are pissed. I am declaring this a jammy (pajamas for grownups without kids) weekend like Nola did a couple of days ago. Warm jammies, fluffy robe, fuzzy socks, and slippers are the dress code. Activities will include sipping a warm drink while reading under a warm quilt snuggling a monkey. Hot tea is the official beverage. Chili will be the main dish. Hope you are staying warm.
Debbi.
Letting the garden grow

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! Enjoy yourself! Spring is coming!
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect. Too bad I have to run errands in town tomorrow, I enjoy those kind of days. I am going to buy some lights for my soon to be started seeds if they aren't too expensive. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Could you please send some of that rain up this way? I need rain to melt my snow faster. It's supposed to be 40 or so but the snow melts SO much faster when it gets rained on.
Sounds lovely Debi, enjoy your jammie day. Hmm just realised it's after midday and I'm still sitting here in MY jammies!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tessa, we will.
ReplyDeleteCinj, my boys would be horrified that you want to get rid of snow. They never have snow to play in. That's the way it goes, feast or famine.
Foxy, Great minds think alike. Manly Man took me to lunch. When we came home I put the jammies right back on.
Sounds like the perfect weekend to me(-:
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea! Your path looks very similar to the one in our backyard, and it does the same thing when it rains really hard.
ReplyDeleteCindee, It is what we do when we have a cold rain.
ReplyDeleteCatherine, It will be a few days before that dries out.
Oh boy...we are kindred spirits. That's just how I like to spend a chilly day.
ReplyDeleteKylee, keep warm and snuggly
ReplyDeleteAck! That photo says it all!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm here to tell ya; if this weather doesn't let up, I'm going to "have a fit and fall in it." (I'm still having rabid fun with that one!) I'm sick and tired of cold and rain and staring at my soggy garden from the rain-streaked glass doors.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Jammy days can be a very good thing curled up with a book or gardening catalogs.
ReplyDeleteOFB, yes it does, brrrr.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, so glad you are having fun with that saying. It came from my Grandmother Rhodella. She used it to describe toddler temper tantrums.
Hi Hocking HIlls Gardner, yes they can. I brought home a copy of Texas Wildflowers from the library to read this weekend.
We had a gloriously perfect day on Friday-got our peas planted. But yesterday rain and cold moved in. And this morning we had GIGANTIC snowflakes. Now we have a rainy, sleety, windy mess out there.
ReplyDeleteCurmudgeon, Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when you said "jammy", cuz' that's what my dad used to say when I was a kid: "Wash your paddies (hands) and get your jammys on." Awesome.
ReplyDeleteLisa, how sweet.
