Baking Soda Magic Eraser

While setting up to take this picture, I noticed some icky greasy mess on the back of the stove top. I have asthma and cannot use harsh smelling cleaners or anything containing ammonia. Baking soda with orange oil has been the primary cleaner in our household. Recently, I discovered that baking soda and any liquid soap will clean just as well as baking soda and orange oil. This is good news because orange oil is expensive. Now I only use orange oil when I want the place to be clean and smell good - you know, company clean. Anyway, needing to clean the stove up quickly and take the picture, I just sprinkled some baking soda on a damp towel and started wiping the surface down. The baking soda basically erased the greasy mess. Aunt Debbi - doing more and more with less and less :)

  1. Hey Debbie girl how are you !
I LOVE my baking soda too and it really does CLEAN ! .. my tub sparkles let alone the sink etc ... I have to find some orange oil too so I can have that nice smell for "company clean" !! LOL .. we all go through that wringer right ?
Thanks for stopping by .. I have been missing out on blog ready now that we are coming out of the frozen north thing .. long winter makes for intense cabin crazies ? LOL
    Joy : )

  2. Isn't that incredible? Baking soda has so many uses...we use it to clean the sink, garbage disposal, bathroom, tiles, and more. I love it!

  3. I use baking soda on almost everything! If you want something with some grit, just add salt and you have a mild abrasive. We have hard water, so I use it in the washing machine, dishwasher, sink, and even our bathwater!

  4. Excellent tip, Debbi! Because of this post, I just tried it on our white metal sink (note to self: next time when you replace a sink, don't buy white. It looks good in the Pottery Barn catalog because is is NOT used!), and it worked beautifully!
