I spent a little time trying to make my selections for nominees for the 2008
Blotanical Awards.
Blotanical is a site that has hundreds of members who blog about gardening. I have put the little award badge over there on my side bar. This is about as political as I will ever get on this blog. Saying that, picking my favorite blogs on
Blotanical to nominate is HARD. There are so many gardening blogs I love to read. Then there are a few categories, such as African blogs, that I don't know a thing about. More research is needed.
Unfortunately, this post will not likely feed in to
Blotanical any time soon because of a technical difficulties. Anyway, if you visit here and are also a
Blotanical member, isn't this fun?
Thank you! Thank you for limiting your political comments to those on blotanicals! I have already been assaulted by the media with politics, and blogging is where I go to escape the madness that will continue until November!
ReplyDeleteNo problem Nola. I keep my politics and religion to myself and off the internet. BTW thanks for the lovely sunshine.
ReplyDeleteAck, Debbi, I hope you're back on Blotanical soon!!! Thank goodness you're on my faves list and I can find your posts by clicking on your blog name. (And you are certainly not alone! I make a point of clicking on faved blogs that haven't appeared to have posted lately just in case technology is up to its usual tricks, and many others are in this boat. Grrrrr...)
ReplyDeleteOh geez! I was wondering why the other posts I just read of your hadn't shown up there. Weird.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with my picks. There are so many good blogs out there to read, aren't there? I had thought about checking into the blotanist awards, but I was too laz to think about installing an new browser to do those. IE usually works out just fine for everything else anyway.
HI ofb, we have been through this before. I trust that Stuart will work it out. Glad to see you are visiting even with the techincal difficulties.
ReplyDeleteCinj, I agree everything will work out.
I thought something was up with Blotanical before I left for vacation. How ironic! I switched over to FeedBurner back when Blogger feeds weren't being picked up by Blotanical. Now it's Feedburner. Can't win for trying.

Hi Deb - just wanted to let you know I'm still reading you!
ReplyDeleteYes, the Blotanicals are fun, but as you say it's so hard to choose. Shame that these problems are coinciding with the awards.
Am in the process of putting all my Blotanical faves into Google Reader as future proofing. I was kinda using Blotanical as another Google Reader anyway...
Curmudgeon, I did the same thing. Durn.
ReplyDeletehi vp, i have not done the google reader thing. Maybe I should. I have a lot of my favorites linked up over on the sidebar, which helps a little.
I have my favourites are in the sidebar too - but a lot of them are in the Blotanical Blogroll.
ReplyDeleteThe great thing about Google Reader is you know when someone has put a new post on. Saves a lot of clicking on your Favourites only to see there's nothing new.
A bit like the Pick List, but separted out into the individual blogs.
Did you know Stuart has added some new categories? If you made your selections early, you may want to go back and do the new ones too ...
