This is what the deck looked like after I robbed it of a few plants to dress up the front porch.
Stuff was just strewn all over the place. The potted plants had weeds. How embarrassing.
The umbrella sedge was blown over and showed its' overgrown roots.
Took about thirty minutes to clean up my mess. I had to spray the deck off with the water hose. It was too damp to use the blower. If it is dry tomorrow I will get the blower out and really clean the it off.
Looks great Deb. I love your colorful pots, they really add personality to your deck.
ReplyDeleteWhen you finish, you can come help clean my patio, it looks the same, only smaller.
ReplyDeleteHey, what was the comment that got deleted? Was it something scandalous?
Thanks pgl, I am drawn to bright colors.
ReplyDeleteHi nola, I have a few more messes I need to clean up before I can offer to help anyone else:) The deleted comment was just a spammer. Nothing scandalous, just annoying.
I have to admit that I find weeds in my potted plants too. Oops... did I just admit to that? ;)
ReplyDeleteYour deck looks wonderful in the overcast light.
Cindy
Hi cindy, confession is good for the gardener's soul:) Thanks for the compliment. My photography skills are very very limited.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, good job on the clean up. You must be a hard worker! You can get rid of that comment deleted by clicking on the trash can next to it when it is shown on your whole blog post. You will see 'remove forever' or something like that. Click on that and it will disappear.

I admit it too. Weeds in my pots. Sigh. Glad you got it cleaned up.
ReplyDeleteHi Frances, thanks for that tip. It looks pretty bad when there are a lot of deleted comments. They have only been spam for me, but I don't want anyone to click on it and end up getting mail order bride emails or something.
ReplyDeleteHi tina, weeds in our pots is a sign of very busy women.
No need to be embarrassed! We've all got some places that look like that. I've been working for two days in the garden. It is rewarding.
ReplyDeleteI much prefer tidying up outside the house than inside. Far more satisfying!
ReplyDeleteOh, you should see my yard right now. I moved pots off the porch that looked hot and tired, have no idea where to put them, stuck them here and there...what a mess. I have got to clean up---me and my container gardening! :)
ReplyDeleteAnna, I have seen your pictures and your stuff is awesome. If you have a hidden mess, I will eat my hat:)
ReplyDeleteMe too easygardener, me too.
Meadowview thymes, Everything looks pretty hot and tired this time of year. I am just beginning to start to straighten up. I don't know if I will make a post out of any more of my messes though. It is getting really embarassing.
I can relate, Debbi! (Except for the rain, of course.) My poor container plants are screaming for more water! The goldfish in the deck water garden have put themselves up on eBay. Mercifully, we're supposed to get 4 inches (!!!) of rain tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! By the way, I have weeds in ALL my pots~ they seem to think it's the perfect place to be:).
ReplyDeleteSince moving to the area we are now in I always have weeds coming up in my pots. I blame it completely on the wind as it is always depositing more seeds. I love all your different pots it makes the deck more interesting.
ReplyDeleteofb, I hope you got the rain, but isn't that a lot for one day?
ReplyDeleteThanks Chey. Sadly the pots do seem to be weed magnets.
Cynthia, that must be it. It has to be the wind.
