The rain is here. So I am stuck inside.
I think I will clean up the mom wall. This is where I put papers from school, art work, gardening articles, and apparently a picture of Mamala with her girls. There really should be a better way to keep up with my kids stuff, but I have yet to figure it out. Any suggestions?
Well, I've managed over the years to lose most of what I kept. Ya don't realize how it happens; it just does if you move a lot and aren't extremely careful. Figure out a way now though before they are 30 and 34 and you wonder what little items in their childhood you can't quite recall.

How about a bulletin board for special things that you can change out from time to time. I kept a large (large!) box for each of my 3kids with special awards, artwork, etc in it. I will make them go through these boxes and decide what memories they want to keep when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteI did what Linda suggested. I had large bulletin boards in the hall when the kids were younger. I also have a small footlocker for each of them with their childhood mementos.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda, I have a set of drawers that have most of the pictures and cards in them. Maybe I am doing a little better than I think.
ReplyDeleteHi linda and pgl, I think I am sort of using that wall like an unofficial bulletin board. Doesn't come off as well though.
Lucky you! No rain here and even trees and plants growing in the wild are wilting. They probably always did, but I just never noticed it before this year. So sad.
ReplyDeleteI like to try to scan the things onto a disk for my computer I want to keep so if I loose the originals I may be able to find them again someday. Then I can set it up as a slide show on my computer too.
ReplyDeleteTina, after all of that nonsense with the lawnmower, Gustav didn't give us any significant rain. Just enough to keep me inside but not enough to really help the plants.
ReplyDeleteCinj, I have all my pictures on the computer and backed up on cds. Never considered scanning other things. Great idea.
I had/have a 6 cubbie hole piece of furniture that is my buddy. When my kids were home, they each had their own cubbie hole. As soon as they came in the door, they knew where the stuff went. One of the cubbies was dedicated to things mom needed to sign. After I signed it, it went in their cubbie.
ReplyDeleteAnna, that sounds like a great set up.
