We lost a bunny tonight. It was one of the three borne last last spring. I went out to feed them after work and found him. He was gone. How am I going to tell the boys? It just seems awful to have this happen at this time of year. Normally, there would be a funny story about my misidentification of his gender, but not tonight. This was the sweetest of the babies. He loved to be held and stroked.
Goodbye Snowball.
Ahhhhhhhhhh...so sorry. He was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh no! How sad. He looks like he was a wonderful friend in both beauty and spirit.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your bunny. I can sympathize. Just tell you children the truth and they'll understand eventually. They won't like it but they will understand. He was a very cute one!
ReplyDeleteHow sad, he was such a beautiful creature. I know he had a wonderful life, no matter how short, at your house! Sometimes reality sucks, there's no good way to explain death to kids.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. Its so hard to lose a pet)-: I can totally understand your loss. We have lost our share of pets and each time its so hard.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry Deb. Like Dave I think it is important to be honest with children about death. It is part of life. My heart goes out to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a love bug! We're going to need to start a support group! Too many of us losing loved pets during the holidays.

I am so sorry Debbi! It's so hard to lose a pet--especially one so cute.
ReplyDeleteOh man that is so sad. I'm so sorry for you and your Monkeys. Hugs to you all.
ReplyDeletePoor little bunny. Wonder what happened to him?
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons I think it's important for kids to have pets is that it teaches them about the circle of life. It's not easy, not pleasant, but it sets them up for the real world which they will have to face all too soon.
Thinking of you all.
I want to thank you all for you good wishes and kind advise. I like to respond to each comment individually, but there would be too many tears. Thanks again to all.
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard when a pet dies, no matter whether they were young or old.
ReplyDeleteIn sympathy,
Sue
thank you sue.
