More Toad Drama

As if last nights toad incident was not enough, tonight two of the monkeys rush in and shout, "Guess what K caught?" Then Baby Monkey shoves a Mason jar with a big ole toad in it right into my face. I scream, "GET THAT OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!" "But, we want to keep him." Me, "No, NO REPTILES OR AMPHIBIANS IN THE HOUSE EVER. " "Okay, we will put him in your water garden, " they reply. "DO NOT BUT THAT CREATURE IN MY WATER GARDEN. IT WILL EAT MY FISH OR MAKE A MESS OR SCARE ME." I hollered while melting down. Manly Man intervened and I am safe.
Oh, BTW, I found a worse bug story.
One more thing. Somebody out there in the blogosphere wound up here through google looking for this.
Sitting on an ant pile.
I can't recall ever doing that. Double Danger has a whole bunch of advise on keeping this from happening to our backsides.

  2. Hi sister, It is all okay, it is only happening here. Jack cannot pick up a toad and bring it to you yet. Get ready, that baby is not afraid of toads, I can feel it.

  3. I think it's okay to have a toad in your garden. I have been encouraging them to come. Toads eat slugs and other bad insects. They really don't like ponds that much. Frogs live in the water and also eat insects, but not fish. I think you're safe. But I wouldn't let it in my house either :)

Hi jane marie, I want them in the garden, just not in the house and not in my water garden on the deck.

  5. Wow, that is one big toad. I hope the one that crawled up your leg was waaaayyyy smaller!

  6. Bedbugs. I had heard they were making a comeback, but had hoped--and still hope--never to cross paths with one. Their bites are apparently so painful they make bee stings feel positively pleasant by comparison. Yikes! Anyway, did I mention that that's a really, REALLY big toad?!!

  9. I was just congratulating myself on having a 'green' garden, because this afternoon, for the first time since we built our pond, I found toad spawn in it. Then I saw your blog...

  10. Sorry Victoria, I don't mean to frighten. If it makes you feel better, this is the first time a toad has gotten into my clothing in 32 years of gardening.
