Taking Out The Trash

I was introduced to a new blog today. The site is trashwatch and has been set up by Sean of Bamboo Geek. The point of the blog is to point out corporations which contribute to this countries horrible, awful, gross, disgusting, nasty, sad litter problem. Not to be all negative, good corporate/environmental citizens will be recognized. Our job, is to help Sean out by taking pictures of trash with corporate logos visible and sending them to him along with location by street and cross street. He will post, per his discretion, these pictures. He then offered to compile our pile of trash pictures and send them on to the companies to raise awareness and maybe a little shame. I can keep him busy just with the crap that gets thrown in the ditches around this place. I love a blog with a purpose and I am ready and willing to help and gripe. At least Sean is doing something. Atta Boy Sean, Atta Boy.

  1. Thanks for pointing out Seans blog. I think he has a good cause and besides, a guy who goes by Bamboo Geek can't be all bad.:)

  2. Atta girl, Debbi! I tried to comment over at his blog, but he has one of those "Blogger or nothing" comment sections that I can't for the life of me figure out. I emailed him about it. I guess I'll be looking for trash today, proving for sure to my neighbors who weren't already certain that I am indeed eccentric!

  3. I have to admit, our streets are pretty clean around here. Well, with the exception of cigarette butts at intersections. Maybe I'll just send Marlboro a big box of butts.

  5. Debbie, Thanks for posting about Trash Watch. I have been posting what I find, but haven't gotten anything from others yet. Once I get yours, I'll post it. Thanks again for supporting this cause. Trash watch is going to be featured in the Nebraska State Recycling Association e-newsletter and I think that the Keep California Beautiful organization may be posting Trash Watch as well on their website, we shall see. Thanks again.
