What is Going on With the Weather

It is got into the 80's yesterday and is doing the same today. Last night, we saw Trixie, our calico, waiting on the deck rail to get into the house. She was sitting under the porch light and something was bugging her. When my husband went to let her in he saw a hummingbird dive bombing her head. Why do we have a hummingbird here in February? Also, we already have May flies. What's up with that?

  6. Curmudgeon, We really need some of that rain.

    Gardeness, oops.

Cindee, maybe we now have full time humming birds due to global warming.

Dee, we have bees buzzing around too.

James, sounds familiar. It has been very warm this week.

  7. We are possibly getting a huge snow storm this weekend. That's not really too unusual for NC but it's going to be 64 tomorrow. I was afraid we would get a lot of snow in March.

  8. I can't believe you have hummers already, but we have seen the Mayflies. My big bull frog was sitting on the patio last night--and it's not quite March! Strange.....we it would rain though.

  10. Holy cow, hummingbirds in February? The last few days lulled me into a false sense of spring; I even (eee gads) put on my shorts and flip flops! How scary is that? Yep, that glow you see to your west would be my lilly white legs!

  11. Anna, We hardly ever get snow.

Linda, I am really worried about no rain and it looks like we are headed into another extended drought. I am picking up another rain barrel next week.

    Joy, hahahaha, love the comparison.

Nola, I thought I saw a glow on the horizon;)

  12. I haven't seen a hummingbird yet, but have been seeing all sorts of flying insects and odd things. The weather is strange too. To quote you and add my own addition: "If it freezes and kills my new blooms, I shall have a fit and fall in it!" I just love that phrase!

  13. Brenda, We went out to eat dinner at 5:30 and came out of the resteraunt forty minutes later. When we went in it was warm. When we came out, we needed jackets. That's Texas weather for you.

  14. Hmm...that is some odd happenings for February even in your neck of the woods. We are having a nice day today (60's-70's) and now it is calling for snow on Monday. :(

  15. Racquel, it is going to freeze in the next 24 hours, but it was good while it lasted. I just hope that little humming bird will be okay. The cat does not agree.
