Look up at the top picture, the cardoon came back. Look down at the lower picture, the minnow daffodil bloomed.

  1. Hi Deb. I love cardoon! So when is its "regular season" to bloom for you?

  2. I was just amazed it came back. It will bloom in mid summer. Looks like a pretty purple thistle. Are you familiar with it. The early early minnow daf is blooming now.

  3. Is cardoon a veggie? I have heard of it before but don't know much about it. Does it spread a lot? I have spent a fair amount of time digging out a related thistle that is a real pest in my yard. thanks for visiting my blog.

  5. Okay, I didn't look this stuff up so don't strip me of my mg certification. It is related to thistle. If you want to eat it you are supposed to cook the stems like asparagus. I have not eaten it, but I might. I bought a plant 3 years ago and the thing keeps coming back. That is a south facing wall, so it bakes in the summer.

  6. i'm so jealous of your early spring. We are going to have temps in the subterranium zeros this weekend. This is the time of year that us northerners begin to feel that spring will never come :-(
